TA Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) – Academic Support Specialist

Full-time grant funded (funded by grant from EOP) 12 month para-professional position reporting to the EOP Coordinator. The EOP Academic Support Specialist is primarily responsible for determining the academic needs for academic success, managing the planning for academic success, tracking academic progress, and encouraging students in the EOP program who can benefit to take advantage of tutoring and other EOP support services. Salary is $43,811.
Bachelor degree required in Counseling, Student Personnel, Social Work, or related field. Master's degree preferred in similar fields.
The individual must have a background or skills in education, tutoring, counseling, or human services, have demonstrated interest and skills in working with socioeconomically and ethnically diverse populations, and must be able to identify academic needs and offer solutions. At least one year of experience working in higher education, academic support, counseling, or a related field required. Intermediate computer skills are required for advisement, including experience with Banner, Degree works, record keeping, and reporting.
