DESCRIPTION: Part-time hourly position reporting to the Savor Restaurant Manager, Supervises servers. Assists manager with overseeing service guidelines. Does lead server work with restaurant manager or when restaurant manager is not on duty. Reinforces SOS. Addresses every table.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Oversee shift set up for dining room and lounge area for lunch and dinner service. Assist restaurant manager with the assignment of server section. Ensure all shift work is completed by service staff. Assist restaurant manager in reinforcing proper steps of service throughout each shift. Trains all new servers in Front and Back server standards and responsibilities. Assists in front of house pre-shift meeting regarding reservations, server sections and training topics. Confirms service staff can clock out at end of scheduled shift after dining room has been cleaned and reset for the next service period. Retrieves Savor restaurant cash drawer from College Association business office for start of service. Performs nightly restaurant cash drop for next day deposit; following proper cash handling and EOD paperwork procedures. Locking up restaurant office, micros office and checking adjacent doors. Visits each and every table including bar guests. Helps host control flow of seating as needed. Sets up dining room according to reservations (planning for flipping tables as needed). Report to manager after each shift summarizing service. Assist restaurant manager with oversight of service staff for all activities on the Server job description.
Salary: $7.50 per hour.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years’ experience as lead server at comparable concept restaurant.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Prior assistant manager experience, fine dining experience, liquor laws, tips/ServSafe certification, knowledge of Micros.
