P/T Teachers Toddler & Pre-K (Grant-Funded)

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking to fill 3 part time, grant-funded positions. The NCCC Child Development Center serves toddler children ages 18-36 months old. Responsibilities for teachers include but are not limited to planning and preparing the learning environment; individualizing infant/toddler routines; facilitating curriculum goals and objectives, facilitating and recording monthly observation and assessment measures for children; coordinating parent and teacher conferences, general housekeeping; serving meals, planning and preparing involvement activities, and center recruitment.  Maximum of 30 hours per week for approximately 30 weeks (7:30 am - 1:30 pm OR 8:00 am - 2:00 pm) Monday through Friday from late August through mid-May). Reliable transportation to and from work is an expectation. Positions are available commencing with the 2018 - 2019 school year.  All applications meeting required qualifications will be kept on file for a one year period and reviewed should additional needs arise.  Current remuneration is $13.00 per hour

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field; At least two years of consistent paid experience teaching in an infant/toddler classroom within the last four years; Proof of certification of at least 16 hours or 4.5 continuing education units (CEUs) in infant/toddler education and/or training courses.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field; CDA Credential; BOCES Early Childhood Education graduate; state provisional or permanent teacher certification. At least two years of consistent paid experience as a lead teacher teaching in an infant/toddler classroom within the last four years.
