P/T Technical Assistant Accounting – Learning Commons

A technical assistant for accounting within the Learning Commons will be expected to provide academic support during assigned hours. Technical assistants with a concentration in accounting will be able to assist students in multiple courses ranging from Introduction to Financial Accounting to Computerized Accounting. Students from specialty courses such as Managerial Accounting, Organization & Management, and Fundamentals of Marketing also look for help. Applicants are encouraged to review the semester course offerings to ensure overall knowledge in these courses (https://ncccbanner.itec.suny.edu/PROD/bwckctlg.p_disp_dyn_ctlg). Hours are available Monday through Saturday. Positions are available for spring 2017 & fall 2017.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related curriculum. Ability to multitask and work with a single student or multiple students at once, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are required.
Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or related curriculum; 1 year teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level. Those with content area knowledge in computer applications, operating systems, word processing, and/or spreadsheets are desired.
