P/T Technical Assistant Writing – Learning Commons

A technical assistant for writing within the Learning Commons will be expected to provide academic support during assigned hours. Technical assistants with a concentration in writing will be able to assist students in understanding an assignment, formulating ideas, organizing a paper, bibliography and in-text citations (APA, Chicago, MLA, etc.) and editing a final draft. Students from a variety of content-area courses, such as US History, Western Civilization, Introduction to Sociology, or Drugs & Society, also look for writing help. Hours are available Monday through Saturday.
Associate's degree or higher in English, English Education, or related curriculum. Ability to multitask and work with a single student or multiple students at once, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are required.
Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, or related curriculum; 1 year teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level.
