DESCRIPTION: Part-time hourly position reporting to the Savor Restaurant Manager. Ensures every guest has the complete Savor food experience. Follows all SOS in chronological order. Accurately takes/inputs orders and serves menu items in a timely, friendly manner and follows up. Explains features with a friendly disposition.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for specific reservation. Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, tableware, salt and pepper and linens. Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware and glassware. Assist host by answering phones, taking reservations, greeting, seating and thanking guests. Answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses, and pour the wines for customers. Memorize daily features/specials and inform customers of daily features. Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Check for appropriate silverware based on guest’s menu selections. Take orders from guests for food and/or beverages, and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff. Check guests identification to ensure that they meet the minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. Ring in orders according to guests seat numbers. Delivers bread service informing guest of specific bread/butter descriptions. Serve food or beverages to guests, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required. Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Present guests with dessert and after dinner drink menus, providing suggestions for which items are favored by the server. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Collect payments from guests and process cc/proper change accurately. Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining. Clear dishes and glasses from tables and take them to kitchen for cleaning. Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, dusting woodwork, or checking and cleaning bathroom. Fill salt, pepper, sugar, sidework.< Answering guests to history of school and local area directions and events.

Salary:  $7.25 per hour.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years’ experience as lead server at comparable concept restaurant.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Prior assistant manager experience, fine dining experience, liquor laws, tips/ServSafe certification, knowledge of Micros.
