Start a new career as a medical billing specialist! Doctors' offices, hospitals, HMOs, and clinics need the service of skilled billing specialists able to do the important job of medical billing. This is an evening program designed for those who have general office skills and are seeking specialization. It focuses on the rules and regulations of the insurance industry, medical terminology, medical coding principles, and MediSoft, a medical accounting software package. Successful completion of this program will provide graduates with the opportunity to obtain employment in diverse medical office environments, and qualifies them to take the Certified Medical Billing Specialist review and exam. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and keyboarding skills of 25 words a minute.

Understanding Health Insurance – Highlights the concepts and procedures required to prepare and submit accurate health insurance claims Wednesdays, January 16 - March 27, 2019 AND Tuesdays & Wednesdays, April 3 - 23, 2019; $750
Medisoft – Medical billing software used by health care professionals (Understanding Health Insurance is prerequisite)
Tuesday & Wednesdays, April 24 - June 4, 2019; $550
Microsoft Office – Word and Excel applications, beginning through intermediate commands
