Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • May carry over a maximum of 30 days annually (August to September).
  • May sell back up to 20 days in August of each year.
  • At time of resignation or retirement, paid for max of 30 days of unused PTO.

Sick Time

  • Earn 1 sick day per month to a maximum of 229 days.
  • May sell back up to 12 unused sick days at the rate of 1 day for 6 in August of each year. Must maintain a minimum of 115 unused sick days.
  • Entitled to payment of 1 day for each 4 unused sick days upon retirement (must be at least age 55 and have 10 years of service).

Health Insurance

  • Two plan options to BC/BS POS or Independent Health.
  • Eligible for health insurance on the first day of the month following hire date
  • Employee is responsible for 16% of the cost for family/single coverage

Health Insurance Waiver

  • May waive health insurance from college and receive 15% of premium for lowest cost HMO as of September of that year. Payment made on or around May 1st.

Health Reimbursement (HRA) and/or Flex 125 Account

  • College contributes $1500 to HRA if eligible for family health plan, $1250 if eligible for single plan. Can be utilized for health insurance premium, medical care or dependent care.
  • May add to section 125 Flexible Spending Account with own money on pre-tax basis, max. $2,700 for un-reimbursed medical, $5,000 dependent care expenses.

Retirement Systems

  • NYS Employee Retirement System (ERS) or TIAA-CREF.
  • President & Vice President’s may also join NYS Teachers Retirement System.
  • May also contribute to tax sheltered annuities (403b or 457 plans), no employer contribution.

Life/Disability Insurance

  • 2 x salary raised to next multiple of $1,000
  • Long Term Disability coverage after completion of one year

Professional Memberships

  • VP’s $500 per year
  • All others $250 per year

Educational Support Personnel Association (ESPA) – (Titles include but are not limited to: typist, campus security officer, stenographer, clerk(s), public relations assistant, duplicating machine operator.)

  • Two plan options BC/BS POS or Independent Health Plan
  • Employee is responsible for 20% of the cost of coverage for the first 36 months, then responsible for only 10% thereafter

Health Insurance Waiver

  • May waive health insurance from college and receive waiver benefit of $500 for single coverage or $1,000 for family coverage paid at the college contribution rate (80% or 90%). Payment made on or about May 1st.

Flex 125 Account

  • May add to section 125 Flexible spending Account with own money on pre-tax basis, max of $2,700 for un-reimbursed medical expense account, $5,000 for dependent care

  • May waive health insurance from college and receive a prorated amount (45% or 40%) for single or family coverage. Payment made on or about May 1st.

  • May add to section 125 Flexible spending Account with own money on pre-tax basis, max of $2,500 for un-reimbursed medical expense account.

Credit Courses at NCCC – Regular part time employees shall be allowed to enroll in credit courses without charge to a maximum of four (4) credit hours per academic year on a seat available basis

Technical Support Personnel Association (TSPA) – (Titles include but are not limited to: building maintenance person I, II, & III, storekeeper, maintenance-custodial, groundskeeper, custodian, cleaner, laborer.)

Health Insurance

  • Eligible for health insurance the first day of the first full month after 90 days of employment
  • The BC/BS POS Plan is the only plan option for enrollment
  • Employee is responsible for 25% of the cost of coverage for the first 36 months, then responsible for only 10% thereafter

Health Reimbursement Account

  • College will contribute $150 (single coverage) or $250 (family coverage) to HRA funds if a regular full time non-probationary employee on 9/1 of each year.

Health Insurance Waiver

  • May waive health insurance from college and receive waiver benefit of $700 for single coverage or $1,400 for family coverage paid at the college contribution rate (75% or 90%). Payment made on or about May 1st.

Flex 125 Account

  • May add to section 125 Flexible spending Account with own money on pre-tax basis, max of $2,700 for un-reimbursed medical expense account, $5,000 for dependent care expense account

Retirement Systems

  • NYS Employee Retirement System (ERS)
  • May also contribute to tax sheltered annuities (TSA’s), no employer contribution

Credit Courses at NCCC – shall be allowed to enroll for credit in courses, without charge, to a maximum of three (3) credit hours per semester (maximum of six (6) credit hours per year) on a seat available basis.

Faculty Association of Niagara County Community College (FANCCC) – (Includes members of the college’s Academic Staff, Non-ranked professional, para-professional and non-credit professional staffs.)

Vacation – 12 Month Faculty members are awarded 25 vacation days annually on 9/1 (prorated if hired mid-year), can carry over a maximum of 10 unused vacation days each year

  • 10 month Faculty members are not awarded vacation days

Personal Days – 3 personal days after 90 day probationary period

Comp Time – may earn up to 35 compensatory hours, and an additional 77 compensatory hours for the 11 Fridays off in the summer

Sick Time – Earn 1.20 sick days per month (14.4 days per year), up to a maximum of 229 days

Health Insurance

  • Eligible for health insurance the first day of the first full month upon hire
  • The BC/BS POS Plan is the only plan option for enrollment
  • Employee is responsible for 12% of the cost for family/single coverage. 14% effective 9/1/20 and 16% effective 9/1/21.
  • Upon retirement health insurance will be paid as follows if you are at least 55 years of age:

  • $35 for each faculty member for membership dues in related academic and professional organizations
