NCCC to Hold Veterans Day Ceremony on November 9

Niagara County Community College (NCCC) will host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 9 at 11:00 AM on the Sanborn campus.  The ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park, 3111 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn, NY 14132.  The event is free and open to the public.

The annual ceremony will include opening remarks by NCCC Interim President William J. Murabito.  The keynote speaker for this year’s ceremony will be NCCC Professor James Mezhir, Professor of Criminal Justice and Division Chairperson of the Humanities & Social Science Division.  Professor Mezhir retired from the US Army and the US Army Reserve after 26 years as a Command Sergeant Major. He was Brigade Command Sergeant Major for the 98th Division US Army Reserve.

Eddie Lewis an Army veteran, who is majoring in Personal Training at NCCC, will speak on behalf of veteran students.  He is currently a Sergeant in the Army Reserve.    

Stephanie Chandler, a veteran majoring in Liberal Arts Humanities & Social Sciences will serve as master of ceremonies.  Members of the Niagara Falls Air Base Honor Guard will also participate in the ceremony.

Refreshments will be served immediately after the ceremony in the Notar Administration Building lobby on the Sanborn campus.
