Biography
Dr. Woodworth joined SUNY Niagara in 1995 as an adjunct clinical nurse faculty then in 2002 as a full-time nurse faculty. She brings over 27 years of experience in critical care, emergency nursing, psychiatric nursing, operative nursing, and home health care. Dr. Woodworth started her RN career after graduating from the associate’s degree RN program at SUNY Niagara! Despite having a full-time teaching load she continues to keep her nursing practice current by maintaining a staff role in the operating room (ASU/PACU areas). In addition, she continued this rigorous schedule while completing her PhD in Nursing Education! She practices what she teaches: a strong belief in furthering her education and maintaining excellence in practice!
In addition, Dr. Woodworth has established herself as an expert in nursing education by attaining the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential and publishing in within the evidenced-based literature in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Woodworth uses innovative teaching strategies to promote engagement within the classroom. She developed and implemented nursing case studies that have been utilized in the nursing program. She challenges nursing students to strive for their highest potential! Graduates appreciate her encouragement for academic excellence, clinical encouragement to be the best nurse possible, and love for life-long learning!
