Program Goals and Objectives
- Academic Advisement targeted on developing educational and career goals that will facilitate appropriate certifications in the field and transfer to a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Comprehend the contribution of multiple fields of knowledge such as, sociology, psychology, math and biology to the development of the field of health education.
- Develop a professional electronic portfolio displaying a personal philosophy, a command of health literacy and the Health Educators Code of Ethics.

“In the Health Studies program, my professors did a great job explaining how healthy living was fundamental by revealing relevant facts and/or personal experiences. I was able to learn a lot of important information and how to utilize it effectively in educating family and friends. As an adult student paying out of pocket, being able to afford my education was a significant factor in choosing SUNY Niagara. Also, being from a major city, I wanted the experience of attending a small school. Since graduation, I have taken Personal Training courses and I am pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.”
