The job outlook is strong. Overall employment of health educators and community health workers is projected to grow 16 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. Growth will be driven by efforts to improve health outcomes and to reduce healthcare costs by teaching people healthy behaviors and explaining how to use available healthcare services.

Alumni Spotlight
Angelica Watson ‘18
“In the Health Studies program, my professors did a great job explaining how healthy living was fundamental by revealing relevant facts and/or personal experiences. I was able to learn a lot of important information and how to utilize it effectively in educating family and friends. As an adult student paying out of pocket, being able to afford my education was a significant factor in choosing SUNY Niagara. Also, being from a major city, I wanted the experience of attending a small school. Since graduation, I have taken Personal Training courses and I am pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.”
