SUNY Niagara is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our leadership team as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead transformative JEDI initiatives, champion diversity, and ensure that equity and inclusion are at the forefront of our campus culture. Your leadership will bridge historic systemic inequities, fostering a community where everyone feels valued and empowered.
This position will maintain visibility and credibility throughout the campus community and lead the development and implementation of proactive social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion (JEDI) initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to overcome historic systemic inequities within the College, fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all.
The Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer will assess the progress of the College’s current JEDI Action Plan, as well as endeavor to bring together stakeholders within the College and its surrounding community to effectively create and apply subsequent plans. Their engagement with these college stakeholders will focus, but not be limited to: the assessment of potential barriers and the development of strategies to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, assess the need for training initiatives on such topics as cultural competency, gender differences, disability, sexual harassment, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values, in maintenance and compliance with applicable laws. The Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer will actively engage students, faculty, staff, and administration to further behaviors, attitudes, and policies that support JEDI practices at NCCC and NFCI.
- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.
- At least three (3) years of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion, preferably in higher education.
